Discussion about how to build confidence for the PE exam

1: What is Confidence, Really?

Confidence is ultimately belief in yourself.  Believe in your abilities, preparation, instincts and judgement.  It’s the trust that you can handle unknown future situations and that you have what it takes to be successful in those situations.

The unknown future situation we’re concerned with here is the PE exam process.  The material that you’ll be tested on, the amount and quality of studying you do, the study material that you use, what test day will be like, and how much time and energy will you have to dedicate to this process are all unknown variables as you begin to prepare for the PE exam.

Confidence is the belief in yourself to know that you are fully prepared for the test, that you know you can handle the questions that they throw at you, that you know what to expect on test day and that you know you have studied and prepared comprehensively.

Why is confidence so important?  Without it, self-doubt will creep in.  Doubt in yourself is debilitating both as you study and on test day.

Having confidence will allow you to push through when things get hard as you study and as test day approaches.

But how do we build confidence if we’re lacking it?
